Last summer I released a pattern and video tutorial for my Kero amigurumi. This year, I wanted to revisit the pattern and create a Spinel Sun variant. For Spinel Sun, the pattern for the head, body, arms, and legs are exactly the same as Kero. The changes are the yarn colours, the ears, the wings and the tail. MATERIALS
Worsted/Medium weight yarn – dark blue (D), light blue (L)
size 8 (5.0 mm) crochet hook
two 8.0 mm safety eyes.
scissors, yarn needle
blue felt, white glue, pipe cleaner
Make the head, body, arms, and legs the same as the Kero pattern in dark blue.
EARS
Make 2 pieces in dark blue and 2 pieces in light blue.
Chain 4.
Skip first ch, sc 3, ch 1 and turn.
Skip first ch, sc 1, inc, sc 1, inc, ch 1 and turn.
Skip first ch, sc 2, inc, sc 1 ch 1 and turn.
Skip first ch, sc 2, inc, sc 2, ch 1 and turn.
Skip first ch, sc 3, inc, sc 2, ch 1 and turn.
Skip first ch, sc 3, inc, sc 3, ch 1 and turn.
Skip first ch, sc 8.
Fasten off. Cut a long yarn tail for sewing.
To form one ear, lay a light blue piece on top of a dark blue piece and starting from one side of the ear, sc 7 along the side, sc 3 along the top, sc 7 along the remaining side.
Fasten off. Cut a long yarn tail for sewing.

R1 With L, sc 6 in magic ring (6)
R2 (sc 1, inc) three times (9)
R3-4 sc in each st around (9)
R5 sc 7, dec (8)
R6 sc 6, dec (7)
R7 sc 5, dec (6)
Finish with a sl st. Cut a long yarn tail for sewing.
Piece B (Make 2)
R1 With L, sc 6 in magic ring (6)
R2 (sc 2, inc) two times (8)
R3-4 sc in each st around (8)
R5 sc 6, dec (7)
R6 sc 5, dec (6)
